Im Rahmen einer Modernisierung der Firmenräume durch den Architekten Andreas Hartl und die Innenarchitektin Edda Reisinger bat uns die Firma STEMMER IMAGING ein Lichtkonzept für die neu gestaltete Eingangshalle und das circa 13 m hohe Treppenauge des Firmensitzes in Puchheim zu entwerfen. Die Lichtskulptur sollte das Image und das enorme technische Know-how der Firma STEMMER IMAGING widerspiegeln. Cluster+ mit seinen vielfältigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten schien mir für die Umsetzung meiner Idee ideal. Die Licht- skulptur sollte ein Zentrum bilden, das sich von unten bis oben durchs Treppenauge zieht, die Etagen miteinander verbindend. 100 Cluster-Module wurden an 100 Seilen im Treppenauge in unterschiedlichen Höhen positioniert, die Seile durch lange, schlanke Gewichte gespannt. Den Abschluss am Dach bildet eine schwarz eloxierte Aluminiumplatte. Bei der Anordnung der Module haben wir auf eine Gegenbewegung zur vorhandenen Laufrichtung der Treppe geachtet. Die Idee des Auf- und Absteigens wird durch diese Struktur symbolisiert. Aus der Ferne betrachtet scheinen die einzelnen Cluster zu schweben. Bei 100 Cluster-Modulen erreicht die Lichtinstallation 28000 lm bei 600 W. Die einzelnen Module mit unterschiedlicher Lichtrichtung werden mit einem Zufallsgenerator geschaltet, unter Berücksichtigung der Tages- und Jahreszeiten. Durch diesen an das Tageslicht angepassten, sehr langsamen Wechsel erreichen wir unterschiedliche Lichtstimmungen. Um bei eventuell anfallenden Wartungsarbeiten jedes einzelne Cluster-Modul erreichen zu können, ist die Lichtinstallation mithilfe eines Elektromotors drehbar.

In the course of the modernization of the company's offices by architect Andreas Hartl and interior designer Edda Reisinger, STEMMER IMAGING asked us to develop a lighting concept for the redesigned entrance area and the stairwell (about 13 m in height) of their headquarters in Puchheim. The light sculpture was to reflect the image and the enormous technical know-how of STEMMER IMAGING. Cluster+, with its wide range of possible applications, seemed to be the ideal choice to realize my idea. The light sculpture was to create a center for the stairwell, all the way from the ground floor to the ceiling, connecting the individual floors with one another. 100 Clusters on 100 wires were positioned in the stairwell, in different heights, with long and slender weights giving tension to the wires. The sculpture ends in a black, anodized aluminium plate on the ceiling. In positioning the modules, we took care to counter the direction of the staircase, thus symbolizing the idea of ascending and descending in the sculpture's structure. Seen from afar, the modules appear to float in the air. With 100 Cluster modules, the installation reaches a light output of 28000 lm at 600 watts. The individual modules with different light directions are controlled by a random generator, taking into account the time of day and the seasons. With this very slow change, adapted to the daylight conditions, we achieve different lighting moods. In order to be able to easily reach each of the modules if the need for maintenance work should arise, the whole installation can be rotated with the help of an electric motor.
